Privacy Policy

We do not require an account. If you choose to enter a display name, select interests, or upload an avatar, that data is stored only in your own browser's localStorage — it is never uploaded to our servers.

We detect your country once via your IP address to confirm you are connecting from an Asian country. This check is not stored or associated with any identifier.

We collect anonymous connection metadata (timestamps, session duration) required to pair users. This data contains no personal identifiers and is discarded when the session ends.

Your display name and interests are used only to improve the quality of matches within a session. Geographic data is used exclusively to enforce the Asia-only region restriction.

We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising. We do not profile users or build behavioural datasets.

Video, audio, and screen sharing are transmitted directly between devices using WebRTC. Our servers facilitate the initial handshake and then step aside — we cannot intercept, view, or record your streams at any point.

Text messages, GIFs, and reactions pass through our signalling server in transit but are never logged or stored on disk.

Display name, avatar, interests, theme preference, and sound settings are stored locally in your browser until you clear them. None of this data ever leaves your device.

The chat export feature processes your conversation entirely on your device — no history is uploaded to our servers.

Asiaana does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. We may use essential session cookies required for the service to function. We do not track your behaviour across other websites.

We use Google STUN servers for WebRTC connectivity — they receive only anonymous connection metadata. Country detection uses a local geoip-lite database; no external service receives your IP address.

GIF searches are powered by the Giphy API. Your search query is sent to Giphy when you use this feature — refer to Giphy's own privacy policy for details.

Chat messages exist only in active session memory and are discarded the moment you disconnect. Media streams are never stored. Connection metadata lives in server memory only for the duration of a session, then disappears.

Local browser data persists until you clear it — there is no server-side record to delete.

Because we hold no personal data on our servers, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete there. You can remove all locally stored data by clearing your browser's localStorage. You may stop using the service at any time.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are communicated by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
